How to Help Shoppers Choose Between Similar Products

Similar products create a particular kind of friction: the shopper can see options, but not the reason to choose one over another.

Lead with differences, not similarities

Many comparison experiences list every specification. In-store, that often makes choice harder. The better approach is to highlight the few differences that actually change the decision: use case, compatibility, size, performance level, feature tier, warranty, bundle or lifestyle fit.

Use shopper language

A laptop shopper may not know which processor they need, but they know whether they are studying, gaming, working remotely or editing video. A speaker shopper may not know driver size, but they know room size and usage. Translating specs into human situations is essential.

Create guided shortcuts

Product stories, comparison cards and finders can create shortcuts through the range. Instead of making the customer decode everything alone, the experience can ask what matters and show the closest matches.

What MyPlayer adds

MyPlayer helps brands build these decision paths into QR codes, touchscreens and product displays, while capturing which products and features shoppers compare most often.
